JAKARTA: Actor Lukman Sardi is getting the jitters more and more these days. Not because of his upcoming movie, but because he will soon have a new status: father.
Although Lukman says he’s ready for his first baby boy, he admits he is also scared by some aspects of his new life.
“To be honest, I’m a bit afraid,” says the husband of Priscilla. “You know, all this time, it has been my wife and I. But soon, we will have our son.”
“I really have to change my way of thinking and everything, like I have to think how to raise him and so on,” he adds.
According to Lukman, the doctor predicted Priscilla would deliver the baby at the end of December.
“It’s a boy, but I decided to have the baby’s room painted in white, not blue, like most parents do,” says the award-winning actor. “It’s just how I show my gratitude to God for giving us a child – regardless of the child’s sex,” he adds.
Lukman, the son of renowned violist Idris Sardi, says he hasn’t chosen a name for the baby.
“No, not yet,” he laughs. “Right now I’m just focusing on my wife, making sure she is healthy so she can deliver our baby safely.” — JP
