Various members of the House of Representatives, who were the first to call for an investigation into the Bank Century scandal, continued meeting with prominent figures Tuesday to ask for moral support to solve the case.
The legislators met with the chairman of the Islamic organization Muhammadiyah Din Syamsuddin at the association’s office in Jakarta, kompas.com reported.
“We met with Pak Din Syamsuddin this afternoon,” one of the lawmakers, Nasrullah from the National Mandate Party (PAN), said.
After meeting with Din, the legislators are scheduled for a discussion with the chairman of the People's Conscience Party (Hanura) Wiranto at 5 p.m.
The lawmakers have already talked with the former chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Amien Rais and former president Abdurrahman Wahid, popularly known as Gus Dur. They are expecting the leaders to support them so that an investigation of the case be a success. (ewd)
