Klub Corinthians memperbesar tawaran untuk kapten Manchester City Carlos Tevez. Awal pekan ini, klub Brasil tersebut sudah mengajukan tawaran senilai 35 juta pound sterling untuk striker asal Argentina tersebut. Corinthians kini dilaporkan mengajukan tawaran 39 juta pound sterling. Agen Tevez Kia Joorabchian mengatakan kepada BBC Sport, ''Saya memang tahu ada kenaikan tawaran, namun tawaran itu baru masuk hari Jumat dan itu masih pada tahap awal.'' Manchester City menghendaki nilai transfer hampir 50 juta pound sterling (Rp650 miliar) untuk Tevez. Kubu Man City mengisyaratkan tidak akan tergesa-gesa untuk mencapai kata sepakat, tapi jika transfer disepakati, manajer Man City Roberto Mancini kemudian akan memburu bintang Atletico Madrid Sergio Aguero yang dia minati. City yakin dalam posisi yang sangat kuat sebab tidak menghadapi tekanan finansial untuk menjual pemain dan Tevez masih terikat dengan kontrak jangka panjang dengan nilai di atas 200.000 pound sterling per minggu. Dengan demikian, tampaknya tawaran terbaru klub Corinthians mungkin masih belum cukup untuk membujuk City agar menjual pemain berusia 27 tahun itu. Tevez menjadi kapten Man City ketika klub liga utama Inggirs tersebut berlaga di ajang Piala FA dan meraih tempat di Liga Champions.
